SBCC Parenting Program
Programs for parents of pre-kindergarten age children
Parenting Skills classes cover skills for parents of 3-month old infants to five-year olds in age-specific groups, and parents attend class with their children. These parenting skills classes are all offered for free when you register through SBCC’s extending learning program.

This free class meets weekly on Tuesday and Wednesdays at local parks in Santa Barbara and Goleta. The class is a warm and welcoming place for all parents and caregivers, providing opportunities for children ages 2-5 years old to enjoy age appropriate activities to enhance children’s physical, emotional, intellectual & social development, strengthening parent / child relationships. Siblings welcome.

PEP’s New Parent Discussion Groups (commonly referred to as “PEP Groups”) are a great place to meet other families with babies the same age, dealing with the same issues, sorting through some of the same challenges, and experiencing the same joys that come along with new parenthood.

We offer a postpartum outreach service to check on you and your baby, answer any questions you have, connect you with local resources (if needed). You will receive a call from one of our volunteers approximately 2 weeks after your noted due date.

The free Warmline service delivers confidential one-on-one support from trained volunteers who are parents themselves. Covering a range of topics from basic infant care to addressing breast or bottle feeding challenges and postpartum adjustment, the Warmline serves as a valuable resource for information and support.
